Jose Kont is a New Media expert, venture capital investor, author, international speaker, and columnist for Latam Republic, Pulso Capital, Forbes, among others. His work centers on a question that defines our time: how companies can earn people’s attention and trust in a world overflowing with information.
Before any title, Jose defines himself by what he values most: he is a father, a son, a husband, and a reader. He grew up in a middle-class home in Latin America, the son of parents who never had access to formal education. He experienced firsthand the limitations that come with that reality, but he also learned from them the value of effort, perseverance, and the dignity of hard work. That experience shaped his life’s purpose: to prove that entrepreneurship and innovation can break cycles and transform the futures of individuals, families, and communities.
Driven by that conviction, he founded several companies in the consulting and media sectors and became a leading voice in Latin America’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He captured part of what he learned along the way in his book Protagonistas del Futuro, an invitation to take an active role in building the future.
He is currently Managing Partner at Nomada Fund, the world’s first Distribution for Equity fund. His thesis comes down to a simple mantra: “distribution is the new moat.” At a time when technology can be replicated in weeks, what truly protects a company is the community that trusts it. Jose lays out this vision in The New Moat Manifesto, ten theses for founders and investors on why distribution has become the hardest competitive advantage to copy. Through this innovative model, he supports early-stage startups with something just as valuable as capital: positioning and visibility.
At the center of everything he does is his faith in Christ. That faith shapes his investment and business philosophy, in which returns must go beyond the financial and also be measured in transformed lives, stronger communities, and a lasting legacy.
